Latest books I’ve read

“This story is well-written and easy to follow. I did enjoy this novel, though I’m not sure about the ending, it felt a little lackluster. Still, it was good and worth a read, at least once.

I do think the author should have looked a bit closer at how things are done in America. Throughout the book, while the character was in the U.S., everybody kept drinking tea, and that’s just not how it is! Americans usually drink coffee instead of tea. At one point, she had a character put on the kettle, and I was just like, “That’s not very American.” I mean, you can drink tea as an American, but normally someone’s going to make coffee. I just thought that was a little funny.”

“When I bought this novel, I didn’t realize it was a collection of short stories—mostly because I only looked at the cover and didn’t actually read the blurb on the back. Haha, yes, I judge books by their covers a lot. Oops!

But anyway, this book features several short horror stories; some were great, while others were a little boring. My personal favorites were the ones about the mannequins and the space station. With such a wide variety of stories, I think almost anyone could find at least one they enjoy.

If you like horror, these short stories are definitely worth a read—though some leave you wanting more. I especially wanted to read more about the mannequin scenario!”

“Such a short heart warming and breaking story. Showing the struggles of their time and the cruelty. This little novel was fascinating to listen to and I believe others would enjoy it. Even if you aren’t into this type of fiction, I believe anyone would like this… even with its sad end.”

“

This book isn’t bad! It’s well-written, and overall, I enjoyed it. However, there were a few things that didn’t quite work for me, like the constant reminders that a character has ADHD, which felt a bit forced. I also didn’t fully understand why the bridge was haunted or how Paige somehow caused it; I get that it was connected to her, but the logic didn’t make much sense.

Additionally, while we’re told the characters have codependency issues, we never actually get to see it in action, it’s just mentioned as something from their past. Because it doesn’t show up in the current story, it’s hard to fully buy into.

Even with its faults, I enjoyed the book for what it was and would still recommend giving it at least one read!”

“I didn’t know what to expect when I started this novel. But I was pleasantly surprised with the adorable story. This memoir has just what I needed to hear. A heartwarming story with triumph and adorable dogs. What else do you need?”

Four stars.

“The last thing Addison’s mother said was, “Stay put. I’m coming for you.” But as the days stretch on, Addison is left with only fear, isolation, and the terrifying sense that something far worse is waiting outside the door.”
